Larotinib is an inhibitor of tropomyosin receptor kinase (Trk), TrkA, TrkB and trkC. TrkA, B and C are encoded by genes ntrk1, NTRK2 and ntrk3. They can produce a chimeric Trk fusion protein that can be activated. The protein can be used as a carcinogenic driver to promote cell proliferation and survival in tumor cell lines.
