Lufenuron is one of the two active ingredients in fleas, heartworms and the anthelmintic milbemycin oxime/lufenuron. Lufenuron is stored in the body fat of animals and passes through the host when they eat The blood is transferred to the adult fleas. Adult fleas use blood to transfer them to growing eggs and to hatching larvae that feed on feces. It will not kill adult fleas. Lufenuron is a benzoylurea insecticide that inhibits the production of chitin in insects.
