Dehydrocholic acid is produced by hydrogenation of bile acid extracted from animal bile. It is a semi-synthetic bile acid made from cholic acid. It has choleretic and promoting bile secretion effects. It can stimulate liver cells to secrete a large amount of low specific gravity and low viscosity.
