Rotundine powder, an analgesic drug,is extracted from Japanese stephania root. Odorless, tasteless; case of light yellowish yellowish heat, dissolved in chloro form, slightly soluble in ethanol or ether, insoluble in water; soluble in dilute sulfuric acid. Luo Tong as antipyretic analgesics, clinically used mainly for the treatment of gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer pain, menstrual pain, postpartum uterine pain, tension insomnia, spastic cough and so on.
